If you are purchasing any type of real estate – house, land, commercial – invest money in these two things:
- Survey – have a surveyed prepared which shows you the boundary lines, structure locations and all roadways, easements, or other things affecting the land. The survey you would most likely want is called a “Category 1A Survey” – speak with your surveyor about it.
- Title Insurance – be sure to get title insurance covering the home or land you are purchasing. It can be expensive but worth the money to know the exact condition of the title to the property and whether you are about to inherit some unexpected problems.
