You qualify for the protection of a mechanic’s lien if you provide labor or supply materials for the construction or repair of a house, building, or improvement.

Your mechanic’s lien will cover the house, building, or improvement (and fixtures).

In certain circumstances, these groups will have mechanic’s lien protection as well: 

  • Landscapers and irrigators and suppliers
  • Engineers, architects, or surveyors
  • Demolition crews
