Texas does recognize a handwritten Will in certain situations. These are called “Holographic Wills”.
It may sound good, but they often lead to problems when Momma passes. There are certain requirements – two of them are: It must be entirely handwritten by the person and signed.
If you clear those hurdles, the next problem we have seen is they are often very unclear and missing details which leads to disputes over what “momma” may have wanted to happen with her land and property.
If you really want to avoid these problems, have a proper Will worked up.
