You own a business and have an employee.
You want him/her to sign a non-competition agreement because you’ve invested a lot time, money, and information.
Non-competes are NOT reasonable (or enforceable) if the activities which are restrained; the time; or geographic scope is unreasonable.
Remember, the employee needs to be able to earn a living if they leave.
Often, employers get tripped up on reasonableness.
It is probably not reasonable to restrict this employee from working for a similar business within 250 miles for 15years. Just keep it reasonable.
